26 April 2010 - London
BT led Cloud Services Broker demonstration uses Square Hoop’s VAZIR Catalogues to orchestrate facilities that will enable enterprise customers to access, procure and utilise Cloud Services.LONDON—April 26, 2010—Square Hoop Ltd today announced that it has joined with TM Forum and BT on the Cloud Service Broker (CSB) Catalyst, a new TM Forum technology project. The aim is to develop a trusted and transparent cloud management platform that will simplify the delivery of complex cloud services to enterprise customers. The CSB Catalyst has been nominated for a TM Forum Business Innovation Excellence Award.
The collaboration, which also involves Comptel Corporation, Infonova and OpenNMS Group will look at the role of agile cloud service brokerage in addressing enterprise customers’ security, transparency and governance concerns around complex inter-cloud services.
Square Hoop will orchestrate what is presented to the end user through its VAZIR product catalogues, by aggregating 3rd party and partners’ products, services and billing information to create a simplified view for customers. VAZIR’s adaptability provides an aggregated view of a complex cloud offering in an easy to use form, playing a central role in orchestrating product offering based on the partners’ service and billing catalogues and order portals.
The CSB Catalyst demonstration will take place in the TM Forum’s Forumville area at Management World 2010 May 18-20, 2010 in Nice.
Martin Creaner, President of TM Forum commented ”The success of the Cloud Services market will depend upon the proficient management of diverse and complex value chains. From a TM Forum perspective, standards-driven catalogues to catalogues communications to create new and more complex aggregated services derived from multiple parties’ services and products is a ground breaking catalyst.”
“As the cloud services market matures, there is the potential for these offerings to develop into complex combinations of services from a range of trusted and less trusted sources,” said Gary Bruce, Catalyst lead, BT Innovate & Design. “The CSB catalyst will explore resolutions to the issues that enterprises face when buying these types of combination cloud services - and put in place the governance, security and transparency that will be imperative to their adoption.”
“It is key to the long term viability of ‘Clouds’, that end customers do not get intimidated by whatever complexities inevitably seep into the concept,” said Atit Patel, CEO of Square Hoop. “By ensuring that what the customer sees is kept simple, via the product, services and billing catalogues, customer confidence will grow and the range of products and services will evolve to satisfy a more sophisticated audience.”
